Penwortham Town U6’s Vs. Gregson Lane U6's

Penwortham Town went to Gregson Lane to make it two games in a week for some players after already playing at Burscough on Sunday. Nathan and Max made their debuts for club.

The game was played 8 a side over 4 x10 minute quarters, the first QTR ended 0-0. The ball was bogged down into the middle of the pitch for most of the QTR.

The second QTR was better both teams playing well, Dan had little to do in goals but when called upon he did excellently. Matty, James and Nathan were clearing everything in defence. Luke, Will and Thomas were starting to command the midfield and Sam was dangerous up front. Max also did well in midfield when he came on. Eventually Penwortham’s pressure paid off and Will and Sam both got on the score sheet to make the game 2-0 to Penwortham at half time.

The third QTR started much as the second, again Will and Sam got a goal a piece to make the score 4-0.

The final QTR was end to end, Gregson Lane had a couple of chances but Penwortham managed to keep them at bay. Gregson Lane also defended well and a couple of great saves from their keeper and last ditch tackles from their defence stopped Penwortham scoring again.

Final Score 0-4 to Penwortham.

Summary
Another good game from Penwortham, all the lads worked hard and played good football. MoTM went to Will for some excellent tackling and running with the ball whilst also grabbing 2 goals. Nathan and Max put in good performances on their debuts.

Well done to Gregson Lane who played well in their first ever game and a big thanks to them for hosting us.
